Just Days Away

I still can't fully comprehend everything that's about to happen. I woke up this morning and my countdown notification on my phone said 3 days until I move to Florida! THREE DAYS! Something that I have been waiting for forever is happening so soon and I am beyond excited.

"How do you pack for 7 months?" is a question that I've been getting a lot recently. And I wish I knew the answer! Packing is never my favorite thing to do, but packing for the DCP makes the task way more fun!

For the past two weeks, I have been cleaning my room, packing my suitcases, and running errands non-stop, along with eating at my favorite Houston restaurants and spending time with my family! It has been crazy trying to get everything done and packed. The most I've ever moved is 3 hours away for school in 2 cars, so trying to figure out how to move halfway across the country for 7 months in 1 car is definitely an adventure.

My sweet girls have been helping me pack -- or trying to sneak into my suitcase!

Besides packing, I've just been playing the waiting game! I'm so close to finding out my location (which park I'll be working at), finding out which apartment complex we got, getting my Disney name tag, and beginning my Disney College Program experience. I don't know what awaits me, but I know it's going to be wonderful. This is what I've wanted for as long as I can remember, and I'm literally days away from my biggest dream in life coming true right before my eyes.

My dad and I are leaving on Sunday morning and we'll stop somewhere in Florida for the night. On Monday, we'll drive to Orlando and we're staying at Disney's Pop Century Resort. Tuesday is DCP Check-In and the day that my program officially begins!
The road to Disney!
Thank you to everyone for supporting me as I approach the beginning of my Disney adventure. Having you all along with me as I begin this journey means the world to me and I'm so excited to share my experiences here on my blog. Everyone that has read and/or commented on my blog, emailed me, shared my blog link, and wished me good luck has brought me such joy and I can't wait to continue this blog in Walt Disney World! I'll try my best to keep the blog updated as much as my schedule allows, but for more real-time updates, you can follow me on Twitter and Instagram (my accounts are listed at the bottom of every page and on the Contact Me page).

  1. Courtney...very exciting! On our last trip, my daughter and I met three kids who had just completed the DCP. They had nothing but good things to say about their experiences there. They gave my 11 year old daughter a lot of good advice and it did my heart good to meet those very motivated and excited kids. One of them was actually planning on staying and going into management training. I hope that your time there is as rewarding and fun as what those kids experienced. Good luck and I can't wait to read all of your blogs! :)

  4. I hate that I'm ust now coming across this blog, but I noticed that you said you were packing for 7 months. Is that for the Fall/ Spring advantage program? If so, I heard that if you do an advantage program that you can't stay on Disney property, is that true?

    1. Trinity, that is definitely not true! I did the Fall Advantage program and lived at Patterson Court, which is one of the 4 Disney Housing complexes.
