I'd always wanted to be a Cast Member; that was the overarching dream... but I always knew I could somehow make that happen. With a company this large, I knew that with enough dedication, I could become a Cast Member one way or another.
But Guest Relations, that has been a whole other level of dreaming. This specific role has been the one I always envisioned, always dreamed of, and always pictured myself in. Such a coveted and crucial role, in a department started by Walt himself when he saw the need for it in Disneyland. I cannot begin to express how many times I've imagined myself in plaid, and imagined myself being able to make such important impacts on people's vacations. I've been working towards this role for so long, doing everything possible to prepare myself to be the best Guest Relations Cast Member I can be, but not knowing when that time would come.
On April 5, 2016, one of my most solidified and meaningful dreams came true.
At approximately 2:45 PM, I received a call from "No Caller ID" and I immediately knew that this was it. My recruiter started the call with the normal follow-up questions, and I was actually honored to receive two offers. While the other offer was a position that I was thrilled about as well, I immediately accepted the position as a Guest Relations Hostess. It was such an emotional moment (and yes, tears were shed). When my recruiter asked if I had any questions for her, the only one that I had was "Is this real?!"
This is what a dream come true looks like. |
She proceeded to tell me that I will be a Guest Relations Hostess at....
EPCOT!
That's right, I'm going home! Those of you that have followed my blog since my College Program will know that Epcot was my home park as a Vacation Planner! I could not be more ecstatic to return to my home park!!
I cannot wait to be back in the park with constant guest interaction. I cannot wait to wear the iconic, representative plaid. I cannot wait to be the connection between guests and the company. I cannot wait to make real, true magic. I simply cannot wait!
I'm incredibly thankful that Disney believes in me and has blessed me with this opportunity. This role is going to be one of my biggest dreams come true, and I can't wait to live it. Let the countdown to June begin.
Lots to celebrate, so of course, the first place I went after work was Epcot! My former work location, and now my future! |
Congratulations!!! I have been following your blog for a while now and look forward to your posts! I am so happy for you! I can't wait to read all about your experiences!!!
