This one is the latter.
I'd always wanted to be a Cast Member; that was the overarching dream... but I always knew I could somehow make that happen. With a company this large, I knew that with enough dedication, I could become a Cast Member one way or another.
But Guest Relations, that has been a whole other Courtney Sucharthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01106482789151967736noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1549466037653299555.post-23378449059095802022016-03-18T21:15:00.000-04:002016-04-24T21:15:20.374-04:00Disney Reservation Center ShadowOne of my favorite things about my Professional Internship has been getting exposure to so many internal departments and teams. Today, I was able to shadow a Cast Member at the Disney Reservation Center. This is the call center that handles booking all of the reservations and experiences, answering questions, and so much more! It was incredible to witness all that goes on at DRC!

My first week of work was wonderful! I felt so welcomed by my team. It was a week full of training, meetings, tours, and meeting new people. The first day started off with tours of my cubicle, floor, and the building, as well as the building nearby that we frequent. We had a lunch with my whole team at Olivia's at Disney's Old Key West Resort, which was so much fun! Then, we took a tour of the Courtney Sucharthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01106482789151967736noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1549466037653299555.post-6679972059779747172016-01-09T22:00:00.000-05:002016-01-17T09:43:44.336-05:00TraditionsToday I had my Traditions, which is the orientation class that every single Cast Member takes on their first day! Even though I had already done Traditions for my DCP, I was still incredibly excited for today! Traditions is such a special experience, and I was looking forward to seeing it from a slightly different perspective this time, having already worked for the company before. This process was very similar to when I went through it for my DCP, but just as exciting! I did my background check, paperwork, and received my Traditions schedule. I also received the information for my first day of work at the office on Monday. I was so happy to begin the first step in my PI journey!!

I am living in a beautiful complex in Celebration, FL, which is a town that Disney built, just south of Walt Disney World. I will start by saying that this process takes a lot longer than the DCP process, and it is much more competitive.

It's been too long! I am so excited to be back on this blog, because that means that I have something exciting to share!
I am INCREDIBLY happy to announce that as of September 18th, I have officially been accepted for a second Disney College Program!!!
I cannot wait to be a Cast Member again!
I received an offer for my top role choice, Concierge, so I will be Courtney Sucharthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01106482789151967736noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1549466037653299555.post-85991117704601005692015-02-23T21:30:00.000-05:002015-09-25T11:01:11.994-04:00Red Carpet ClubWell, I thought my program was over, but I guess Disney had one more magical experience in store for me.
You see, as part of Vacation Planning, we are able to choose rewards if our sales reach certain levels. This is just a bonus, though, and our trainers make sure to stress that as long as we are focusing on helping the guest with what best fits their vacation needs, we'll be fine. So, that's Courtney Sucharthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01106482789151967736noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1549466037653299555.post-45523469594701262672015-01-07T13:00:00.000-05:002015-09-25T11:02:58.347-04:00The End of this ChapterHaving to leave Walt Disney World meant leaving my amazing job that I truly loved, and the wonderful guest interaction. It meant not living 10 minutes away from Disney and getting to have fun adventures in the parks whenever I wanted to. It meant leaving the best people that I had the pleasure of living and working with for the past 7 1/2 months. It meant saying "see ya real soon" to so many Courtney Sucharthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01106482789151967736noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1549466037653299555.post-62447733065711744612015-01-05T15:15:00.000-05:002015-09-25T11:03:35.330-04:00Move Out DayMove out day was one of the hardest things I've ever had to experience. The tears and sadness that filled our apartment was symbolic of just how close we grew.
The day pretty much consisted of attempting to fit everything in my car, turning in my ID and key to the front desk, and then the worst part, the "see ya real soons."
Here's a glimpse of the day:
I was so glad that Cynthia, my Courtney Sucharthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01106482789151967736noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1549466037653299555.post-24638119509571893892015-01-04T11:00:00.000-05:002015-09-25T11:04:34.608-04:00Patterson Court #11207
So on those rare occasions when I wasn't at work or playing in the parks, you might ask, where did I sleep?! No, not in the castle or in the resorts, but in Disney Housing!
I realized that in the craziness of Check-In, I never posted any pictures of my apartment complex! As part of the Disney College Program, there are 4 apartment complexes for CP's to live in: Patterson Court, Chatham SquareCourtney Sucharthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01106482789151967736noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1549466037653299555.post-40886869037413851172015-01-03T15:00:00.000-05:002015-09-25T11:06:42.675-04:00My Last Day of WorkJanuary 3, 2015. This was my last day as a Walt Disney World Vacation Planner. This was one of the days I'd been truly dreading.
On the DCP, your last day of work is two days before your program's end date. This gives you the last two days to pack up, go to the parks, and get moved out.
The first true realization of the end of your Disney College Program is when you open up your work Courtney Sucharthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01106482789151967736noreply@blogger.com0
